Tell us how it happened that you joined SoftSystem?
A SoftSystem recruiter called me and asked if I would like to apply for the Analyst position. At first, I didn’t take it too seriously, I thought – me and information systems? However, I agreed to an interview, which was held in a very nice atmosphere and I recall it well. The recruitment result was positive and that’s how my adventure began 😊
What does your job consist in and what are your tasks in the projects?
I am responsible for the development and functioning of two systems and as I was once told “for turning clients’ problems into positive experiences”. I make sure that working with our systems is easy and pleasant for the clients and that our products meet their needs and solve their problems.
I listen to clients’ demands and cooperate with development teams to turn these demands into functioning applications which are in line with previously set software goals.
The analyst’s work consists in numerous conversations with clients and the development team and making sure that what is produced satisfies our clients. Extensive knowledge of the system you work with is necessary in order to make decisions about its development and functioning. Cooperation and communication with the team is the key.
What is more, the analyst’s role is to create and update the documentation attached to the system, including requirements, use cases and designs of functional solutions. As a person responsible for the product, I conduct training and presentations for clients, students or our employees. It is a very interesting challenge which allows me to prove myself in a different role.
As an analyst, I participate in regular meetings of the team that conducts the risk analysis of software as a medical device. During the meetings, we try to identify risks for patients that may appear in our product, and we estimate and evaluate these risks.
My work poses many challenges. Every day I learn its new aspects. The projects that I participate in are still evolving and so am I.
What is the most interesting aspect of your work?
My job is an exciting challenge for me. I like it because I learn a lot and frequently am forced to get out of my comfort zone. The product analyst’s work is quite independent. However, the important part of it is working with people and that’s what I like the most.
The greatest success in your career so far is….
If we talk about an analyst’s career, I think the greatest success is still ahead of me. However, I have some small achievements, especially personal ones.
I must admit that the beginnings were tough. The switch from the lab to the IT industry was quite a challenge. It involved a change in thinking and learning a new way of life or work. Undoubtedly, my latest success was completing the development team and starting the first sprint for the new system.
What tips would you give to potential candidates applying for the position of Product Analyst in the future? How should the prepare for an interview?
As cliché as it may sound, I would say – don’t stress. It was the nicest interview that I have ever participated in and even though the change is huge – it is worth it.
The interview was very substantial, so I would advise the candidates to prepare for it and refresh their knowledge, especially in these parts of the molecular analysis they don’t work within. Thanks to it, they will feel more confident.
Why would you recommend working at SoftSystem?
SoftSystem provides the whole package – constant access to training, many benefits and the possibility to extend competences. However, the crucial thing is that great people work here. I can always count on their help, no matter how trivial the problem. Even though I started to work here during the pandemic, when most people worked remotely, I never felt left alone. Working at the office and remotely, I could always talk to somebody and ask for advice. No one has ever refused help or support. That’s why it feels like home here. I think anybody could feel that way.
What are your interests, passions outside of work?
Even though I have many interests, my greatest passion are my children 😊. It is fascinating and wonderful how different they are and how completely different actions they require from me.
I’m glad my family shares my passion for travelling, hiking in the mountains (though my young one is only five, she hikes better than many experienced ones 😉) and learning about new cultures.
I love an active lifestyle, so I do many sports – running, biking, swimming, skiing and exercising at the gym. Lately, I started attending Krav Maga school. I got swept along.
I like cooking and baking, but most of all tasting. That is an incentive for my travelling passion. For me, each place visited is a taste. I often try to recreate some flavors at home and that’s why I’m trying my luck with gardening. In my life, I follow the principle, that while I can – I try. I am no stranger to the production of home cosmetics, furniture restoration, hand–made products or horse riding. When I need to calm down, a good book or board game always waits on my shelf.
